Granite Leisure Founded 2023
Doni Thomson & Aidan Robertson founded Granite Leisure in 2023 with a mission to disrupt the fitness and health sector. We believe employment practices and models in our industry take advantage of well meaning staff and we have decided to change that with our fair and innovative staffing model.
We also believe in community health clubs. There is a strong demand for high quality, family friendly facilities that aren’t neglected and run down like public sector facilities often are.
What We Do
Granite Leisure currently operates health clubs at The Aberdeen Altens Hotel & The Aberdeen Dyce Hotel, Elgin Eight Acres Leisure & Spa, and The Walton Hall Hotel Leisure & Spa

What do we do?
Facility Operation - taking care of as little or as much of health/leisure facilities as you require from full on staffing, to risk assessment, to auditing, to marketing and more.
Fitness Suites & Refurbishment - we consult on gym and fitness equipment purchase, layout deists, expected ROI, installation, and post-investment advertising. Including refurbishing existing facilities and installing new ones (pre-sale and reopening management can also be taken care of).
We have experience in TUPE, project management, HR, CRM, & every aspect of owning/operating a leisure facility.

Big Business Mindset
Aidan & Doni both worked in large UK fitness businesses and gained experience in operations, sales & marketing, rapid expansion programmes, and consumer psychology. We now take those lessons and apply large organisation tactics to our smaller scale purpose, with great effect.
We believe in the under dog succeeding as long as you can work hard and build the right team. We live and breath on how David can take on Goliath and win.

Our Founders Doni and Aidan are both Aberdeen & Aberdeenshire locals who know North East Scotland and the wider fitness & health landscape extremely well.
